Weekend

Just another pic of Michael and Grace. He looks so old in this picture.

I took my Girl Scout troop camping this weekend. They had a very good time. I am still exhausted. They have so much energy. We went on a hike, did lots of crafts and cooked hot dogs and s'mores on a fire. I love hot dogs cooked over a fire. Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Never a dull moment...

Tay with her baby...
Michael LOVES playing wii fit! He was soooo hot that he HAD to take his shirt off! (Boys!) We've been exercising together recently. He especially likes to watch me box against the wii. He laughs quite a bit!

Today I made a sample water bottle holder that my Girl Scout troop will be making when I take them camping in a couple weeks. Michael was nice enough to model it for me. It's made from belt webbing, no-sew buttons and an o ring. EASY!
My Grandpa came home from the hospital today. He's been in since Sunday. He's a minister and while delivering his surmon on Sunday he had some pain in his shoulder area and everything started going black. The paramedics were called and I was told that at one time his heart rate dropped down to around 35 bpm or so. Very scary. He had a heart cath. yesterday and they are hoping to be able to treat him with medication. He had quadruple bypass surgery 14 years ago. So I am praying that he takes the pills and FOLLOWS THE DOCTORS ORDERS! It just seems like this is going to continue to be an eventful year for my family.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Salazar ("Sal")

Here's Sal!

Last night

Well, last night started off pretty sad for us here. Michael's bearded dragon, Wolverine died. He was very upset at first. He said that it was ok because he would see Wolverine in heaven one day. :o( As a mother that just crushed me. Tay was pretty emotional about it. (Even though she didn't like him.) She said that he was one of our pets and it's still sad. She had LOTS of tears. She is very emotional.
Sooooo......we went out to get Michael a new pet. We told him he could get another bearded dragon, a different lizard, whatever. Well, he picked a really pretty corn snake. I know. I know. I am insane! But if you could've seen his face when the little snake wrapped around my arm and went through my fingers you would understand why we now have Salazar Slitherin Jira. The name comes from the Harry Potter books. Salazar Slitherin was the head of one of the houses in the books. (Good books BTW) I will put a picture up when I can get Mike to take one of me holding it. Mike has the cage VERY secure! EVERY HOLE is taped up. The lid is duct taped at the corners where there are little slits. The lid is locked. He does NOT want the snake out. He hates snakes. But like I said, Michael was very happy with the idea of getting a snake. So Mike is sucking it up for his little boy. ;0)

"Wolverine"

Michael with his "wolverine" claws!

Timmy came to visit last night. The kids LOVE when Uncle Timmy comes over! I do too. Timmy always makes me laugh. By the end of the night I was crying from laughing so hard. It was nice to see him.

Campout

We had a very good time camping! The cabin/lodge we stayed in was very nice. We were pretty warm for the most part. We layered our clothes and I brought extra blankets so we were good to go. I felt bad for some people...sleeping in shorts and t-shirts. What were they thinking? We went on a regular hike and a night hike, tie-dyed t-shirts, made soap, lotion and lip gloss, sang karaoke, made LOTS of friendship bracelets, cooked, made little scrapbooks, made rice socks, got a chair massage (sooooo good!), and I learned how to knit! Taylor and I were very tired yesterday! But we are both glad we went!
